A
good salad is a delight with any
meal, but when you make it
right, it can become the main
course and require nothing else
to satisfy your hunger.
Huntington Beach doesn't offer
one of our favorite salads, a
Cobb Salad at Mimi's Cafe, but
just outside the city limit in
Fountain Valley on Brookhurst
and Ellis you can find that
salad.
OUR 3 FAVORITE
SALADS:
Greek Salad: Gyro Kabob, Pacific
Coast Highway, Sunset Beach, CA
BBQ Chop Chicken Salad:
Stonefire Grill, Brookhurst &
Ellis, Fountain Valley, CA
Traditional Salad & Bleu Cheese
Dressing: Captain Jack's,
Pacific Coast Highway, Sunset
Beach, CA
CHEAP
SALADS
Cheapest, best value salad:
Charo Chicken, Main Street in
Seal Beach, or Edinger,
Huntington Beach, CA
Unpredictable cheap salad:
McDonald's Dollar Menu Salad -
Lettuce, carrots, tomatoes all
questionable at times
Some of the tastiest salads in
Huntington Beach are served at
California Pizza Kitchen at
Bella Terra mall. Thanks to our
Italian friends who often meet
for a birthday celebration at
this restaurant, when they order
three different types of salads
and pass them around a table of
12, it's great to get to sample
them all. Across the street at
Buca di Beppo, the house salad
is delicious and large.
For variety, enjoy the salad
served at a Greek fast food cafe
called Athens West at Seacliff
Shopping Center. It includes
olives, feta cheese, some meat
blend of beef and lamb, and a
delicious fresh-blended dressing
of aged Balsamic vinaigrette.
For quality greens, we like a
spinach salad and light lemon
dressing served at Sebastiani's
Italian Bistro.
A delicious salad is also served
at Luggatti's Italian Restaurant
in downtown Huntington Beach. It
includes marinated mushrooms,
onions, tomatoes and finely
diced peppers. It is a taste
treat.
Not salads per se, but certainly
lettuce-filled meals that are
worth considering are tostadas
served at: Don Jose's, Mario's
and Super Mex. Any of these
offer finely shredded lettuce,
cheese and other ingredients
such as meet, guacamole and sour
cream that when topped with
salsa, make one heck of a salad
dish.
