| There aren't
very many candy stores in
Huntington Beach. With the cost
of rent, it's not that easy
making a go of it on candy
alone, so fortunate for us, each
candy store has something it
excels in.
For the candy
apple crowd, The Rocky Mountain
Chocolate Factory daily makes
outrageously delicious
candy-coated fruits such as
apples, bananas and
strawberries. Just watching a
man feed his sweetheart a bit of
a strawberry near the water
fountain outside the shop can
make you drool for the taste of
a California ripe berry coated
in chocolate.
For the
old-fashioned candy bars,
chocolates and European import
candies, check out the Surf City
Candy Store around the corner
from Rocky Mountain Chocolate in
downtown Huntington Beach. We
love their unique cola flavored
Pez candies, sizzles, pops,
drops and chews. If it's
something that's hard to find,
chances are they've heard of it.
Finally,
California's good fortune comes
in the name of See's Candy.
Chocolates and filled creams
come pre-boxed in pound boxes or
you can have one individually
assembled for yourself or as a
gift. We find their creamy
chocolates especially flavorful
and a decent value compared to
the higher-priced Godiva
chocolates (that Huntington
Beach does not sell).
